How did your journey from Product Owner to Lead Product Owner unfold at Tntra?

My journey at Tntra a started as a Product Owner, and I was fortunate to be part of an environment that truly encouraged risk-taking and learning from mistakes. Tntra’s culture of continuous learning provided me with ample opportunities to grow and develop my skills. Over time, with dedication and commitment, I am promoted to Lead Product Owner. The supportive culture at Tntra has helped me grow as a leader and in my personal development.

What are your key responsibilities as the head of T(u)LIP, and what challenges do you face?

As the head of T(u)LIP, my responsibilities include visionary leadership, where I steer the product’s direction to align with Tntra’s strategic goals. I am also responsible for developing the product strategy and roadmap, ensuring it remains innovative, managing a high-performing team, and staying customer-centric by addressing evolving customer needs. Integrating emerging technologies like AI and machine learning is also crucial. The biggest challenges are staying ahead of rapid technological changes, adapting to market dynamics, and balancing innovation with practical business goals. Despite these challenges, seeing the platform’s positive impact makes the journey worthwhile.

Can you share the vision behind T(u)LIP and what makes it unique?

T(u)LIP is more than just an innovation platform. Our vision is to intertwine innovation with personal growth. We’ve designed T(u)LIP to integrate AI-powered innovation acceleration, personalized learning, and talent development across industries. Our proprietary AI engine, Shruti AI, sets us apart by streamlining the innovation process, identifying risks, and optimizing workflows. Ultimately, we aim to create a comprehensive platform that empowers individuals and organizations to achieve their full potential.

What were some of the biggest challenges you faced while developing T(u)LIP, and how did you overcome them?

Developing T(u)LIP came with several challenges. Balancing innovation and usability was one of the key challenges—ensuring that we remain cutting-edge while keeping the platform user-friendly. We also had to merge diverse technologies like AI and machine learning into a unified platform. Data privacy was another major concern, so we implemented robust security measures. Additionally, other hurdles were preparing T(u)LIP for scalability and adapting it for diverse cultural needs. Each challenge was addressed through careful planning, research, and collaboration, focusing strongly on customer-first feedback and testing.

What key skills and qualities do you believe are essential for a successful product owner?

A successful product owner needs a blend of technical, strategic, and interpersonal skills. They must have a deep understanding of the product and market, and the ability to analyze data to make informed decisions. Visionary thinking is key to defining long-term goals, while problem-solving helps overcome development challenges. Prioritizing tasks based on business value, excellent communication, and strong leadership are essential to guide cross-functional teams. Effective stakeholder management and negotiation skills also play a crucial role in aligning expectations and ensuring smooth product progress.

I keep up with industry trends by reading blogs, staying active in online communities, and analyzing competitors. What really motivates me is customer feedback, seeing my team succeed, and the chance to innovate and learn continuously. Staying informed and inspired helps me navigate the fast-paced world of product management.

What influences your leadership style, and what personal qualities do you believe are essential?

My first mentor, Piyush Patadia, has significantly shaped my leadership style. His ability to lead with both empathy and execution has been a major influence on me. I believe in creating a supportive environment for my team where they can thrive. Additionally, curiosity and continuous learning are key to my leadership philosophy. Taking short breaks to recharge helps me stay productive and inspired. Exploring different cultures through music, art, or cuisine is a way I recharge my creativity and focus.

If you weren’t working in the tech or product space, what other career path could you see yourself pursuing?

If I weren’t in tech, I’d probably be in the sports world, especially cricket or basketball. I could see myself in sports management, journalism, coaching, or analytics—using my passion for the game and skills to make a difference.

What are your passions outside of the tech space, and how do they influence your work?

Outside work, I am deeply passionate about cricket, reading, and historical discussions. If I weren’t in the tech or product space, I could see myself pursuing a career in sports—whether in management, journalism, or analytics. These passions keep me grounded and allow me to approach problems with a fresh perspective. My advice to my younger self would be to stay curious and embrace every learning opportunity because the journey is just as important as the destination.
